Generating stunning images with Ai

ChatGPT and other generative ai tools are capable of quickly generating texts and images. As with writing good prompts for text, it is also crucial to provide good description when generating images. We took the test and created an awareness training campaign using ChatGPT 4.0.

Describing the image in your mind

At the end of the day, you decide what is a good image for you. If you start with a clear idea of the desired image, this process will go much more smoothly. This is because you will then have a lot of information and context, which the GPT needs to generate your desired image. With this information, you will have enough details to have the desired image created. As a result, the results will be much more accurate and consistent. The more details you include in the prompt, the better the end result will be.

How to define an image:

  • How many people/animals are there and what do they look like?
  • What era does it take place in?
  • What elements/objects are present?
  • What camera angle is used: close-up, mid shot, wide-angle?
  • What feeling should the picture convey: stark, cheerful, chaotic, and so on?

Image Generation in action

We used ChatGPT4.0 to generate the images for this experiment.

Our goal was to generate an appropriate image to highlight Cybersecurity Awareness Training. We didn’t want to fall into the stereotypical images of a hacker in a dark room or a letter with a fishhook through when phishing. That is too common and we wanted something different. Time to think out of the box, then.

We quickly thought of Bonnie & Clyde. The infamous criminal duo in the 1930s. Far-fetched, or not? Because ultimately, they did the same thing as cybercriminals; stealing other people’s money. Only in a different way. With this, we wanted to bridge the gap between well-known figures and current cybersecurity issues. Ready to get down to business.

We started off with the simple prompt:

“create a photorealistic image of bonnie and clyde”

To which we received the reply that he cannot simply recreate the real duo. Fortunately, there is a simple solution to that.

Prompt:

“Create a picture of two strangers wearing the same clothes as bonnie and clyde”

This was a promising start. Now we needed to refine the prompt. For example, we wanted the man to hold a gun, but in the same style as the previous image.

We took ChatGPT’s self-written prompt and enhanced it based on the generated image. You can always find that prompt below the generated image. The image above read: Here is the photorealistic image of a man and a woman dressed in 1930s attire, next to an old car, evoking the style of a notorious criminal duo. You can view the image above.”

Based on that information, you know how the Ai sees the prompt to generate the image. This is actually another kind of Reverse Prompting as we did with text.

The next prompt we used:

Create a photorealistic image of a man with an automatic pistol and a woman dressed in 1930s clothes, next to an old car, evoking the style of a notorious criminal duo.

Result:

Now it was time for the final prompt. To which every little detail was added:

Prompt: create a wide-angle photorealistic image of a man and a woman dressed in 1930s attire, resembling a notorious criminal duo. The man wears a pinstripe suit and a fedora, and he carries an automatic pistol. The woman is dressed in a midi skirt, blouse and a beret. They are standing next to an old car on a rural dusty road, with the headlights shining brightly. Money flies around them, making it look like they are on the run. The setting is reminiscent of rural America in the early 20th century.

Result:

The ideal image we envisioned has been created. Now to add a slogan and our campaign is ready to go live.

As you can see, creativity remains essential. AI tools actually help us turn our creative ideas into suitable images. Designing the perfect image is not easy, but having an image in your head that triggers emotions in people, anyone can do that. And ChatGPT is not always so good at that.

Give it a try yourself and let us know how it went for you!
